Sometimes one can get what they are after for at least twenty percent less than their newer counterpart. Some have even been found to be up to eighty percent cheaper.

Choosing to look for a part that has been previously used often means that there is a wider selection available on the market for a person to choose from. Especially for some of the older vehicles that are still on the road today. This will often allow for a better fit when it comes to functionality and quality.

Actually finding a store to deal with may be just a matter of going to a search engine an running the appropriate search or turning to the right page in the phone book. Finding the part that actually matches up with the car that is ill will of course depend much on the type of car that it is. Thus a person may need to seek out the outlets that caters to certain certain makes and models.

If though there is a certain urgency to getting the vehicle repaired then one can go to a store in the surrounding area that may offer used automotive parts exclusively. Therefore just dialing their number may help an individual in finding what it is they need to get their car on the road again.

Many of the stores, in the physical world or online, offer warranties in the event that something goes wrong with what they have sold to their customers. American Businesses Welcome Ford Transit Connect

The Ford Motor Company has had great success with their Transit Connect model in Europe. Now this efficient, mid-sized work van is available in the U.S. and it has been well received. Designed to be malleable, affordable and fuel efficient, American business owners are rapidly becoming interested with this unusual new Ford truck.

Thyssen Krupp Elevator, the largest producer of elevators in North America has begun trading in their large cargo vans and trucks for Transit Connects. The company is committed to reducing fuel consumption and was attracted to the Transit Connects EPA of 22 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Over half of the company’s vehicles are operated by service mechanics that do not need a big vehicle but must have a payload capacity of approximately 1,200 pounds. The Transit Connect was a perfect fit.

Thyssen Krupp Elevator currently owns 90 Transit Connects, has another 50 on order and plans to swap up to 1,500 cargo vans and larger vehicles with the Transit Connect. The company upgraded the cargo area of their Transit Connects to maximize storage for tools and parts. Beyond reduced fuel costs and the customized cargo space the company also enjoys the roominess of the interior and increased visibility from the large front and side windows and mirrors.

Edible Arrangements International is also enthusiastic about the Transit Connect. The specialty fruit bouquet company is currently using 20 Transit Connects in its fleet of delivery vehicles and plans to buy 15 to 20 more in the near future. Company employees find the Transit Connect easier to load and unload than a cargo van because doors open on both sides of the vehicle. They also find it easier to maneuver through residential areas and park in small spaces.

Edible Arrangements opted to add shelves to their Transit Connects and worked with Ford and a third party vendor to build an electric driven refrigerated cargo area. The company loves the unique styling of the Transit Connect because it calls attention to itself. With almost 90% of the exterior surface of the Transit Connect available for graphics, the vehicles also double as mobile billboards.

Even though the Transit Connect has only been in the US a short while it seems to be gaining popularity. It has already been awarded the 2010 North American Truck of the Year and with a price point of around $21,500 businesses will be anxious to buy them. It’s possible this adaptable reasonably priced, fuel efficient vehicle will reform the way we think about work trucks and utility vehicles in the future.

An Overview Of 2009 Ford Edge

Manufactured by Ford and based on its CD3 platform, the 2009 Ford Edge is a premium crossover Sports Utility Vehicle. The platform is similar to the one used by the Mazda6 and Lincoln MKX series, being shared with the Ford Fusion, the Mercury Milan, the Mazda CX-9 and the Lincoln MKZ.

As a crossover vehicle, the Edge bridges the gap between those minivans that are like the since discontinued Freestar, and truck-based sport utility vehicles such as the Explorer. The Edge officially slots below the Taurus X in Ford’s crossover SUV lineup, although it is not much smaller than that model.

The 2009 Ford Edge is a 5 seat SUV vehicle which tries to meet the need for a spacious car with style. It is the latest in the range of Ford Edges and has several features that distinguishes it from its competitors. Ford claims that it should be regarded as half way between a minivan and a truck, and that it is so much more than just a car.

A 3. 5 liter V6 engine powers the 2009 Ford Edge, which kicks out an impressive 265 horsepower through a 6 speed automatic transition. All-wheel drive is available, but front wheel drive is the standard. The SUV boasts many safety features such as anti-lock brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control. The airbags are front seat-mounted side-impact, front/rear curtain and front impact as standard.

The Edge series made its debut at the 2006 NAIA Show in the January of 2006, and production of the 2007 model began in the October 2006, with the first ones being released just before December 25, 2006, due to issues with one of the suppliers. The 2009 Ford Edge utilizes Ford’s innovative front end design, with its usual three bar chrome grille.

The 2009 Ford Edge has a fuel economy that is rated at 15 to 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 to 24 miles per gallon on the highway. As mentioned above, the Edge is available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive and uses Ford’s front end design with its distinctive three-bar chrome grille. Although the 2007 series was introduced with the three trim levels of SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, the 2009 series has dispensed with the SEL Plus version.

Standard accompaniments on all versions of the 2009 Ford Edge includes air conditioning; lumbar support on the driver’s seat; cruise control; power windows, door locks and mirrors; a remote keyless entry; tilt and telescopic steering wheel; and P235/65R17 tires with alloy wheels. The safety equipment on the car includes standard front airbags as well as front side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. There are anti-lock brakes, a innovative system to monitor tire-pressure and an electronic stability control.

The Ford Escort Over The Years

The long life of the Ford Escort — the model sold in the United States and Canada, for the most part — took on several different shapes, though every one aimed to capture a large segment of the compact car market. Up until 1981, Ford had mostly failed at doing so though its new attempt with what it dubbed a “world car” would seek to attract buyers in North America.

By and large, the compact Ford was successful right out of the gate and through the end of its life at the close of the 2003 model year, when it was supplanted by the new Focus. Originally created off the platform of a European model of the same name, it showed up in Ford showrooms sporting new sheetmetal and U. S. Technologies for its 1981 introduction.

The Ford Escort was also the company’s first front-wheel-drive car, and it replaced Ford’s subcompact Pinto, which had been in production since 1971 and had been through several controversies which impacted sales of that model. In the 1980s, the Escort was one of Ford’s most successful models. In fact, it was so well-liked that it was the single best selling car in the United States by its second year and for most of the 1980s.

In all, the Escort carried on through three generations of increasingly improved vehicles and body styles that reflected the age in which the car was built. It was offered in a number of different engine and transmission combinations, even including a 52 hp diesel engine and a higher performance turbocharged model that delivered 120 hp, which was a fairly robust engine, given the Escort’s relatively small size.

By the third generation, which ran from 1997 until 2002, the people at Ford had managed to deliver a seriously well-liked vehicle that managed to deliver good performance from its four-cylinder engine (four cylinder engines were the only power plants available) while also managing to deliver a nicely styled automobile for the masses.

Over the two-plus decades of the car’s life, the Escort appeared in a variety of body styles. There was a hatchback sporting what Ford called “three doors, ” and a station wagon model along with a couple of different performance sport coupes that first appeared on the scene back in 1998. The designers also kept up the car’s appearance, freshening and redesigning it over the years.

Over its life, the Ford Escort played a vital part in keeping the car’s Dearborn-based automaker alive and well. Keeping it in showrooms allowed the company to learn how to manufacture compact vehicles while simultaneously selling a great many of them to many a customer. This had the happy effect of keeping the Blue Oval on the minds of many consumers and for that reason alone, the Escort must be considered a success.

Ford Expedition – Sport Utility Vehicle

What can I not say about the Ford Expedition? This is a great vehicle for anyone that has a large family, boat, and trailer or hauls a lot of stuff at once. We have owned a van, truck and car and out of all the vehicles we have owned the Ford Expedition is our favorite even down to the kids. We were in the market looking for a new vehicle and test drove several Ford products but fell in love with the Ford Expedition. We purchased the 2006 model that had approximately 60, 000 miles on it.

The new 2010 Ford Expeditions start at around $35, 000 thousand dollars and can go as high as $54, 000 depending on the features that you would like. Most of the Ford Expeditions already come equipped with AM/FM radio with CD player, air conditioner, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering wheel, cruise, automatic transmission, roof rack and 3rd row seats which seats 9 passengers comfortably.

It is nice to have a family of 7 who can sit comfortably in a car without being cramped up and still have room to seat friends. I love being able to take my Ford Expedition to the store or to the beach and we can pack it down and still have plenty of room to move around.

The Ford Expedition rides smooth, handles curves well and even has a great towing capacity. We have a pontoon boat and have had no problem hooking the trailer up and dragging the pontoon anywhere we want to go.

The gas mileage on the Ford Expedition has been surprisingly well even for its large size. In the economy today I can fill it up on approximately $40. 00 and get up to 17 miles a gallon. The gas tank takes Ethanol gas or unleaded.

All Ford Expeditions comes with 4 doors so that you have easy access to climbing in and out. The Ford Expedition also has a sporty look because with all the features they also come with running boards which make climbing into the Ford Expedition easy.

I would definitely recommend the Ford Expedition to everyone. It has four doors so no one is climbing over anyone’s lap you can get in with ease and still have plenty of room. The Ford Expedition is well worth its price tag.

The Relatively Short-Lived Ford Probe

A near-decade of the Ford Probe, which was a car that proved quite interesting when it was first rolled out by the Blue Oval folks back in 1988 for the 1989 model year, seemed to have gone by in the blink of an eye back then. Put forth as the replacement for the Ford EXP two-seater, it was built off the well-liked Mazda G platform, and made in front-wheel-drive only. It was also supposed to replace the Mustang, though that never happened.

The original intent in manufacturing the Probe was that it would give Ford a vehicle that would deliver good fuel economy that would help customers deal with anticipate steep rises in oil prices to come. Both the 4 and 6 cylinder models delivered good fuel economy and performance, and helped Ford improve its corporate fuel economy average. Though it did all this quite well, sales never lived up to expectations, sad to say.

The Probe’s sleek, ultra-modern style – kind of wedge-shaped and swoopy – appealed to many, but also left others a little turned off. It shared most of its mechanicals (including engines) with Mazda’s 626-series of automobiles, and came off Ford’s joint-venture assembly plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, where one line would produce Mazdas and the other, the Ford.

Sales of the car, however, even after its redesign in 1993 led to it winning Car of the Year awards from a couple of different automotive magazines, were perennially disappointing and the plug was finally pulled at the end of the 1997 model run.

Engine power was always good in the model, with even the small 2. 2 liter inline four cylinder engine putting out an adequate 110hp. An early turbocharged version of that same power plant managed to kick out 148 horses, with a normally-aspirated V6 putting out just 5 horsepower less. In all, there were just two generations of this able import fighter.

Even though Ford back in those days had a seeming reluctance to move quickly in a quickly-evolving marketplace, the Probe demonstrated what the company could do when it felt compelled to throw a strong import fighting vehicle into the fray. The vehicle came stocked with advanced technological features for the day — especially during the life of the first generation — and was never dull or uninteresting.

As far as time has shown, the years since the discontinuation of the model have demonstrated the essential goodness and durability of the redesign inherent in the second generation. The hot-rod version — the Probe GT — can still be seen on many a road even today, with its normally aspirated V6 putting out 164 horses quite often being modified and tuned to put out tons of additional power.
